Burnley FC have have signed Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant on a three-year deal.

The 27-year-old - who played under Clarets boss Brian Laws when he was at the Hillsborough helm - wants to challenge Brian Jensen for top keeper spot.

He said: "As a player at 27, you want to try and test yourself and the Championship is the place I'd like to be and looking up rather than looking down. I think Burnley is the ideal opportunity to do that.

"Brian has done fantastic for the club, but hopefully I can get the opportunity to come in and play. Hopefully now I can come here, play at a good stadium in front of some great fans and have some great times.

"I've been at Sheffield Wednesday for a long time. I had three really good years there and I know last year didn't end up the way I would have liked.

"On a personal basis I still had a good year and picked up some awards so that was nice, but I'm leaving with a heavy heart because I had a very good relationship with the players, staff and obviously the fans there."
