Burnley FC are reportedly ready to lodge a third bid for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant.

The Clarets’ two previous bids were well below Wednesday’s valuation but the Lancashire Telegraph understands a third bid of over £1 million is being prepared.

Burnley boss Brian Laws may have be looking at to £1.5 million to secure the 26-year-old’s services.

The two clubs are reckoned to be close to agreeing terms with a deal likely to be struck by the end of the weekend.

Laws is an admirer of the former Derby County keeper who he signed three years ago when boss at Hillsborough.
