It is reported that Burnley FC are are close to landing Newcastle United goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Clarets boss Brian Laws has been chasing a new goalkeeper all summer and he is now thought to have switched his attentions to taking the highly-rated shot-stopper to Turf Moor on a loan deal.

The 22-year-old has found opportunities hard to come by with Steve Harper and Tim Krul ahead of him.

Forster enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Norwich last season helping them win the League One title after keeping 21 clean sheets in 42 games.

Norwich were keen on bringing Forster back to Carrow Road before deciding on Everton’s John Ruddy from Everton, leaving the way open for Laws.
