
According to reports Burnley FC are preparing to bid for Wigan Athletic striker Jason Scotland.
The Mirror claims the Clarets are ready to offer unsettled defender Tyrone Mears as part of the deal.
Mears has made it clear he wants to play in the Premier League and the deal may well suit both sides.
Scotland struggled in the Premier League last season after Latics boss Roberto Martinez took him with him when he left Swansea City to take over at the DW Stadium.
The 31 year old Trinidad and Tobago may well view the Championship as a happier hunting ground where he scored nearly a goal every two games as opposed to the one goal over 30 appearances in the top flight.
