According to reports, Burnley FC striker David Nugent may well be a surprise target for Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez.
Nugent, who has spent the season on loan at Burnley, is an experienced Premier League player and could be seen as a replacement for Hugo Rodallega should he leave in the summer.
Nugent will be looking for top-flight action following Burnley’s relegation to the Championship this season.
The former Preston North End marksman is well-known to the Latics backroom staff having worked with their first-team coach Graham Barrow early in his career at Bury.
