Burnley FC manager Brian Laws says it is Robbie Blake’s as to whether or not he wants to stay at Turf Moor.
Blake is highly regarded by the fans but has only managed to score two goals in 31 Premier League appearances, one of them being the winner against Manchester United at the start of the season.
Speaking on the club’s website Laws said: "Over the next few days, we will sit down and try with every part of our body to keep our best players," he told the club's official website.
"Football is football and there will be comings and goings.
"There are a lot of players out of contract and we will be talking to them over the next few days and doing our business in the right manner and not discussing it now.
"Robbie is a fantastic footballer, but I certainly think there is a little bit more left and certainly in the Championship I can see him being a very effective player for us.
"We have been sitting down with him for the last month or so to try and engage him into staying with us.
"We want him to stay at this football club and you heard the supporters today because they want exactly the same.
"Let's hope Robbie buys into that and stays a while longer, but the decision will be down to Robbie."
