Burnley FC boss Brian Laws has admitted he felt like Simon Cowell on the X-Factor in the final days of the January transfer window.

The Clarets chief clinched Danny Fox, Jack Cork, Leon Cort and Frederic Nimani.

But he revealed he spoke to several more players before settling on the new faces he wanted to shine at Turf Moor.

Laws said: “It’s been an incredible few days, particularly because we’ve got to try to do the business diligently and quickly.

“It’s been like a revolving door - players coming in, coming out, having a chat. Next!

“But I’ve been giving them a little bit more time than Simon Cowell would have.

“It’s been enjoyable as well. The ones we’ve been talking to, every one of them wants to come here. That’s a real positive.”
