Barnsley FC boss Mark Robins has admitted he tried unsuccessfully for Burnley FC striker Robbie Blake on transfer deadline day.
Robins admits he did try for the veteran wide man but was rebuffed by new Clarets boss Brian Laws.
He told The Star: "I was interested in him but he wasn't available.
His attempts to prise Jason Scotland from Wigan were also met with failure.
He added: "There's a lot you want to do. You have targets, but there's some we missed out on.
