Ex-Celtic FC full-back Danny Fox believes that financial problems forced Hoops manager Tony Mowbray to sell him to Burnley FC.
The full-back has moved to Turf Moor as Brian Laws re-shapes the squad he inherited from predecessor Owen Coyle and he could make his debut against West Ham on Saturday.
But Scotland international Fox admits that he could have stayed at Celtic if it were not for the dictating influence of money.
He said of his time at Celtic: "I was called into the Scotland squad so I could not have been doing too bad. I also played in the Champions League, which I enjoyed.
"I think with the way Scottish football is going at the moment, financial reasons and stuff like that, Celtic were maybe offered a lot more money than they paid for me.”
