Burnley FC have secured striker David Nugent on loan until the end of the season from strugglers Portsmouth FC.
He returned to Pompey last week as Clarets boss Brian Laws attempted to push through the deal before the close of the transfer window.
It has since been confirmed that the two clubs were able to come to an agreement to allow the player to remain at Turf Moor.
Nugent has struggled to make an impact at Portsmouth since his 2007 arrival from Preston North End.
He is hoping a return to the north west will help rekindle the 24-year-old's career.
