Sunderland FC to bid for Burnley FC full-back Tyrone Mears

Burnley FC full-back Tyrone Mears is reported to be a target for Sunderland FC boss Steve Bruce.

The Black Cats chief wants to sign a new defender before Monday's transfer deadline but has so far been frustrated.

The Times claims Bruce may well look to Mears as an option.

However, Burnley have since moved to refute any suggestions that they are willing to part with Mears.
