Burnley FC will be hoping their home form will bring some much-needed cheer as they welcome league-leaders Chelsea FC.

The Clarets have recently suffered a desperate run of form after making a promising start to their first Premier League campaign.

The club has also been reeling from the shock loss of manager Owen Coyle to Bolton Wanderers earlier in the month.

Defeat to Bolton in midweek has seen Burnley drop into the bottom three of the league and new boss Brian Laws is still searching for his first points.

Laws has been busy in a bid to turn things round, bringing in both Leon Cort and Nicky Weaver as the end of the transfer window approaches.

Defender Cort arrived from Stoke for £1.5million this week while former Manchester City goalkeeper Weaver has joined until the end of the season after a spell with Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League.

Cameroon defender Andre Bikey is available again after returning from the Cup of Nations, while Graham Alexander (calf) and Chris McCann (knee) are hoping to be fit after both being forced off in the first half at Bolton.

David Nugent was back with Portsmouth on Friday and the Clarets are hoping to agree another loan move for the striker.

Possible starting XIs:

Burnley: Jensen, Mears, Bikey, Carlisle, Kalvenes, Eagles, McCann, Alexander, Elliott, Blake, Fletcher.

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, A. Cole, Malouda, Ballack, Lampard, J. Cole, Anelka, Sturridge.
