Clarets boss Owen Coyle has admitted he is keen on securing loan-striker David Nugent on a permanent deal.
Nugent is presently on loan until January after arriving from Portsmouth and has scored two goals since his arriving at Turf Moor.
Coyle is looking to keep him at the club on a full-time basis.
Speaking to Sky Sports he said: "David Nugent is a top-class player.
“If I could get him in permanently tomorrow I would love to do it.
"He is probably similar to one or two others in that he is a bit frustrated. But that is what we want - competition for places."
