Wanderers boss Gary Megson has rounded on his players following their 4-0 Carling Cup trouncing at the hands of Chelsea last night.

Only keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, captain Kevin Davies and midfielder Lee Chung-Yong were missing from the side that beat Everton last weekend.

He was in no doubt that some players had not stepped up to the mark and had done themselves no favours.

He said: "That was an abject performance; not just our worst this season but the worst for a long time.

"A lot of people have waited for their chance but they have not taken it.

"We won't have the same team playing on Saturday and we won't be playing in the same manner.”
