Bolton Wanderers are set to give striker Kevin Davies a late fitness check before the clash with Stoke City on Saturday.
Boss Owen Coyle revealed on Thursday that Davies picked up a slight leg injury on England duty and that he would be assessed prior to the match.
However, it seems Coyle is hopeful his England debutant will be fit.
Coyle wants his charges to be on their mettle for what he believes will be a tough encounter against the Potters.
He said: "Stoke are a good side, and while they are obviously a threat with that side of the game, they have got players who can hurt you.
"We have to make sure we're on our game 100 per cent and make sure those players don't get the space and time to play."
