Newcastle United manager has moved to end speculation over a possible move for Bolton Wanderers striker Johan Elmander.
The Sweden international has enjoyed a fine opening to the season after struggling for much of his Wanderers career.
Reports in Sweden suggested Newcastle were keeping tabs on the 29-year-old in case a new deal at Wanderers did not materialise in the summer.
However, Hughton has dismissed such talk: "There's absolutely nothing in that whatsoever,"

"As always there will be speculation surrounding this club, but I can tell you that one is most definitely a non-starter."
