According to reports Middlesbrough FC will be unsuccessful in their pursuit of defender Andy O’Brien.
There was speculation last week that the defender would be on his way to the Riverside.
Boro boss Gordon Strachan is looking to reinforce his defensive cover and saw O’Brien as an ideal acquisition.
However, the Sunday Sun claims Wanderers boss Owen Coyle will not sanction the move as he needs cover himself.
However, O’Brien may be interested in a Riverside move in January, when he can begin to negotiate with other clubs.
The experienced former Republic of Ireland international is out of contract at the end of the year and expects to leave the Reebok Stadium.
