Owen Coyle believes Bolton Wanderers fans have yet to see the best of winger Martin Petrov.
Petrov was outstanding in his goal-scoring performance which earned Wanderers a draw with Manchester United last Sunday.
Coyle said: "What we have to recognise is that Martin was out for a long time last year with injury, but he came back and did ever so well in pre-season.
"With Martin being such a perfectionist, he wants to be at his maximum in every game and that isn't always possible. You weren't going to come back from that injury, do your three or four weeks of pre-season and hit the ground running.
"But bit by bit and game by game, he is getting stronger. He put in a terrific performance at Aston Villa and then took that into the Manchester United game.
"It is important now that he carries on in that vein, and if he does, it is terrific for Martin and it will only help the team."
