Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle felt his side should have taken all three points at Aston Villa.

Instead, he had to settle for a 1-1 draw after skipper Kevin Davies cancelled out Ashley Young's 35th-minute free-kick.

Coyle told Sky Sports: "We probably had enough opportunities to win the game after going a goal behind and it spoke volumes for our character that we came back.

"We really stormed back, scored a very good goal and had numerous opportunities to get in front.

"We came roaring back into the game and we feel hard done by not to be leaving with all three points.

"This group of players have got tremendous spirit and they've got quality."

Coyle felt referee Mike Dean could have given his side a spot-kick after Villa’s Stephen Warnock appeared to take down Wanderers winger Lee Chung-Yong.

"The Johan Elmander one was a bit away from me on the other side of the pitch so I wouldn't know if that was a penalty or not," he said.

"Mike Dean's a very good referee and he's shown that today.

"I did feel that Chung-Yong Lee, with Stephen Warnock sticking his leg out, I felt could have possibly been given as a penalty, but it never happened."

Erm, can't really argue. Stonewall penalty from Warnock. You played well, we were rubbish, simple.
