Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle set to appeal Gary Cahill dismissal

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is ready to ask the FA to review the red card decision taken against Gary Cahill at Arsenal on Saturday.

Coyle was fuming after the match claiming the defender’s challenge on Marouane Chamakh was a yellow card at worse.

England international Cahill will miss three games due to the sending off which Coyle can ill-afford.

If the appeal is successful, the red card will be reduced to a simple booking so freeing Cahill for Bolton's games against Aston Villa, Burnley and Manchester United.

However, should the FA rule against the club then Cahill will miss an extra game.

An appeal against the Cahill dismissal might get more credence if he publicly condemned the Robinson tackle on Diaby first.
