Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle seems determined to keep midfielder Matt Taylor at the Reebok which will be bad news for Liverpool FC and West Ham United.

Although Taylor has not started either of Bolton's opening league fixtures, he did play against Southampton in last night's Carling Cup second-round win.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Reebok Stadium, with both the Reds and the Hammers reported to be interested.

However, Coyle has all but ruled out such a switch.

Speaking about the propects of Taylor leaving he said: "Not unless the financial climate changes at our club.

"This has been a tricky pre-season because we have had no players out of contract, so we have had to be inventive in the Bosmans we have signed.

"I think we have done well with what we have, although I'd love to be one of these managers with £15 or £20million.

"But we've not got that so we don't moan about it, we get on with what we've got and make a real fist of it - but if things change I'd love to add one or two to help the group."
