Bolton Wanderers are reportedly facing disappointment in their attempts to sign Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

The Bolton News claims Barca look unlikely to allow the Spaniard to join Wanderers on a season-long loan.

Owen Coyle made the ambitious offer for the highly-rated 19-year-old after being frustrated in his efforts to land Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley.

But Barca coach Pep Guardiola has indicated he wants to keep the creative midfielder on hand in the first team squad this season.

Lol Thiago's not a winger, he's a CAM!

He's not winger, he's playmaker and you're right. There's no chance Bolton would sign this super talent boy. He will be promoted.
