Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle felt the home draw with Fulham FC was a satisfactory opening day result.

However, he reckoned his side could have gone on to win the game had they converted their chances.

Johan Elmander missed a fantastic chance to open his account but stand-in goalkeeper David Stockdale produced an outstanding save.

Stuart Holden saw a strike come back off the post.

"All credit to Fulham, they came with a game plan, probably very respectful of us that they sat in and made it difficult," Coyle told Sky Sports.

"I thought we had opportunities to win the match, but equally the last five minutes they did one or two things so it's a point and we move on."
