Blackpool FC have reportedly increase their offer for defender Chris Basham.

It is understood that Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has given the Seasiders permission to speak to B Basham in the light of the offer.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway first offered a bid of £400,000 which was rejected.

However, the renewed bid apears to have sealed the deal and it is now a matter of whether Holloway and Basham can agree personal terms.

Coyle is reluctant to let the talented 22-year-old leave but understands that he wants to play regular first-team football, something he is not getting at the Reebok Stadium.

"Bash is a smashing lad who has worked his socks off for us," he said. "But we have to accept that he wants to play, and at the moment there are people ahead of him in the queue.

"We've been fair to him and fair to the club, so we'll wait and see what happens."
