Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is confident striker Johan Elmander will be ready for the visit of Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Sweden international needed stitches in a head wound inflicted by Nemanja Vidic in Wanderers' 4-0 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend.
Coyle said: "He had six stitches, and we had to nurse him a little bit at the start of the week," said the Bolton boss.
"But he is fit to play, available, and I'm sure he will look to do his best."
His recovery is a major boost for Coyle who may have to manage without defender Paul Robinson.
The 31-year-old missed out against United with an ankle injury which could also see him miss out on Saturday's clash at the Reebok Stadium.
"We're hoping he will train at some point ahead of the game on Saturday," he said.
"He'll certainly have to, to be in contention, so we'll look at that one."
