Gary Megson fears he has been priced out of the management market due to his compensation deal with Bolton Wanderers.

The 50-year-old fears the restrictive compensation agreement is preventing him from taking his next job.

He said: “I’m on gardening leave and it’s not something I’m happy about.

“It sticks in the throat a bit because people might think I’m not available for work, but I want to get back into management quickly.

“Bolton were in a mess when I came in. There was chaos on and off the field but we kept them up twice.

“To be put on gardening leave after the work I did there is not ideal.

“I agreed the package with Bolton, but I will forego the money to manage again.”
