Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies insists his side are not the strong-arm outfit of the past few years.
Skipper Davies was speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Manchester United at the Reebok this coming weekend.
The Yorkshireman acknowledges the team’s disciplinary record is far from perfect but he claims Owen Coyle’s current side no longer employ the intimidatory tactics that have long been associated with the club.
“We have had the red cards but we’ve got an honest bunch of lads and no one would go out to hurt someone intentionally,” he said.
“They have been soft sendings-off and I think our disciplinary record has been pretty good this season.
“We will look to give it a good go against United but we are not an over-physical side any more.”
