Bolton Wanderers defender Chris Stokes believes his loan move to Crewe Alexandra is the ideal way of securing a contract at the Reebok Stadium.
The 19-year-old is an academy player at the Premier League club and boss Owen Coyle is due to decide on his future in the summer.
Stokes told the Crewe Chronicle: “I want to impress Bolton and do really well.
“We have had a change of manager so I’m trying to impress him and hopefully coming here will do that. I have heard a lot about Dario Gradi. Everyone in football knows who he is and I respect him highly.
“I am excited to be here but I don’t feel under pressure.
“If I don’t get a contract at Bolton I will look to get one elsewhere.”
