Megson relaxed about Bolton’s lowly league position

Wanderers boss Gary Megson has insisted he is not going to panic about his side being in the relegation zone.

Although his side has not a league game for six weeks he remains upbeat and says he will not look too far ahead until the first round of matches is complete.

He said: "By then you have played every team once so it is starting to take shape.

"With clubs like ourselves, every now and again you are going to beat a Manchester United, or a Chelsea, an Arsenal, a Liverpool, but when they all come along in one sequence that is going to make life tough for that kind of football club.

"That is what has happened to us and now we have played those teams we now need to push on.

"I don't want to be disrespectful to those teams that are around us, but we have survived the last two seasons by having a decent record against those kinds of clubs and we have got to do it again."
