It is reported that Barnsley are chasing Wanderers defender Danny Shittu.
The Sun claims Shittu will be offered an escape route given he has failed to figure so far this season in Gary Megson’s first team.
Shittu is desperate to be included in Nigeria’s squad for the World Cup next year in South Africa and will be looking for regular football.
Tykes boss Mark Robins needs to bolster his defence and is to launch a £1million swoop for the Trotters misfit in January.
Shittu, 29, has made just 12 appearances since moving from Watford for £2m in August 2008.
