I was wrong to blame players admits Bolton’s Megson

Bolton boss Gary Megson has tried to clarify comments he made earlier in the week in which he accused some players of fomenting dressing-room unrest at the club.

The accusations followed his side’s derby defeat by Blackburn last weekend.

He said: "I made a mistake in highlighting the situation because while it is still there and still apparent, it is not a huge problem.

"Maybe I should not be as honest with you as I have been. You say these things then other people pick up on it and make a bigger deal out of what I was trying to say.

"I can understand people being unhappy if they are not in the team. When you have squad of 20-odd players and can only play 11, you are going to have the hump a little bit.

"If you take Chelsea, they may be top of the division but one or two will have a face on as they are not playing."
