Bolton leave Portsmouth a clear path to Vassell

Bolton appear to have pulled out of the chase for former England striker Darius Vassell leaving the way clear for Portsmouth.

Vassell has been linked with both clubs when problems emerged following his summer move to Turkish club Ankaragucu.

It seems Vassell was evicted from his temporary accommodation because the club could not meet his bill.

But Bolton News reports that Wanderers are not interested in bringing the 29-year-old to the Reebok.

The 29-year-old, who was released by Manchester City in the summer, had been linked with a move back to the Premier League, having failed to settle at his new club.
