Wanderers skipper Kevin Davies hopes strike partner Johan Elmander has turned the corner in terms of discovering his form.
While Bolton’s performance against Aston Villa last time out was woeful, it did nevertheless include the Swede’s first Premier League goal for eleven months.
Davies has backed the club record signing to continue his good work against local rivals Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
Speaking to Bolton News he said: “I have said time and time again about him, he’s a good player who works hard for the team.
“He probably needs a run in the side to get his fitness back up but he’s looked sharp the last couple of weeks in training and he’s got a point to prove to everyone.
“We have got a big derby game next up, so that has to be everyone’s focus.”
