Wanderers boss Gary Megson says he was pleased overall with the tactical changes he made for last weekend’s game against Chelsea following their defeat to the Blues three days before.
Speaking on the club’s website he explained: “Davo (Davies) has got his own strengths and he has flicked on quite a few balls that Johan managed to get on to.
“That enabled us not only to get shots away but also link-up with Sam Ricketts going down the right.
“Playing the two up-front means that we are only able to have four in midfield. But the players are going to have to get used to a little more chopping and changing than we have had in the past to try and get the right team on the field at the right time.”
“We now have a few more options than maybe we did before. The players on the bench weren’t left out because of the way that they had been playing or training. It was simply because we wanted to match the diamond formation they employed.”
