Centre-back Matt Mills has a personal mission when Bolton Wanderers line up against Leicester City tonight.
Mills was left out in the cold by Foxes boss Nigel Pearson before eventually moving to the Reebok Stadium and sees tonight’s clash as an opportunity to prove a point.
He told the Manchester Evening News: “I got pushed into the dark at Leicester and had to work on my own.
“People sometimes make assumptions about footballers and the way their career is going.
“But I felt it wasn’t really through any fault of my own that I wasn’t playing. I had to get a personal trainer and worked hard through the summer to get an opportunity here. I hope people see I give 100 per cent every time I play.
“My time at Leicester was frustrating. I only played about 30 games and my record was good. But the manager wanted to do something differently.
“I had the opportunity to come here and now we face each other. That’s the way football goes.”
