Bolton Wanderers defender Sam Ricketts has conceded that their derby against Wigan Athletic could decide their Premier League status.
The two clubs meet at the weekend with both sides desperately in need of points if they are to avoid the drop.
Ricketts said: “Next weekend was always going to be a big game, because it’s a local derby, and with the situation both teams find themselves in.
“It’s going to be chop and change [at the bottom] all the way to the end of the season.
“This is a setback, but we have players coming back from injuries and new signings, so we need to dust ourselves down and get back to the level we’ve been at recently.”
