Blackpool are set to announce the signing of much-travelled striker Kevin Phillips today, it is understood.
The 37 year old is currently a free agent after leaving Birmingham City and Seasiders boss Ian Holloway has moved to secure his signature as DJ Campbell looks set to leave the club.
The veteran hitman begun his career at non-league Baldock Town, enjoying spells at Watford, Sunderland, Southampton, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion before finally leaving the Blues this summer.
It was at Sunderland where Phillips made his most notable impression - bagging 113 goals in 208 league games between 1997-2003 and earning cult status in the process.
