Richard Scudamore has rubbished Ian Holloway’s claims that the Premier League would like to see Blackpool relegated.
The Premier League’s chief executive insists he would be delighted if the Seasiders survive the drop.
“Blackpool have been fantastic," Scudamore said in an exclusive interview with Hawksbee & Jacobs.
"They’ve been like a breath of fresh air. They’ve gone about it in a positive way and gone out to win, to play and to score goals.
“Look at the amount of games they’ve been involved that have produced a lot of goals – the whole thing’s been fantastic.
“Off the field it has been a bit of a struggle getting Blackpool over the line. We had to put back their first game because their stadium wasn’t ready and administratively it’s been a big leap for them, a small club with a small infrastructure.
“But let nothing take away what a joy they’ve been in the Premier League and I’ll be more than happy if they stay up.”
