Blackpool are lining up a move for highly-rated young Huddersfield Town keeper Alex Smithies, according to the Daily Mail.

Scouts were in attendance to track the 20-year-old in Saturday's 2-1 win over Brighton.

Smithies, who has represented England at under 16-19 level, could be a potential replacement for Matt Gilks who looks set to leave the club after admitting contract talks had stalled last week.

Gilks, whose contract expires in the summer, highly impressed in between the sticks before a knee injury ruled him out of action last month.
