Ian Holloway firmly believes that a winter break should be introduced into the English game.

The Seasiders have a busy festive schedule lined up - taking part in five Premier League fixtures during December.

Notable ties include a trip to big-spending Manchester City, along with hosting Liverpool at home on Boxing Day.

"What I find hard to understand is we are playing five or six games in one month. What is that all about?" he said.

"A winter break? That would be lovely. As a member of the British public, I would not want to go out on Boxing Day in the freezing cold.

"I would rather stay at home with my family and watch a film. Family is what it is all about.

"Travelling the length and breadth of the country, it's crazy. We should stay at home and have some turkey."
