Ian Holloway has admitted he faces a fight to keep star skipper Charlie Adam at the club when the January transfer window reopens.
The Seasiders have silenced their critics so far in their debut top flight campaign, with former Rangers man Adam being a key figure in the side.
Holloway said: "I think there will be a few out there who are jealous that we've got Charlie."
"He's a wonderful player, improving all of the time."
"Will we have trouble in January keeping him? I don't know. I just know he's a very brilliant player."
Holloway is also expecting clubs to express interest in some of his other squad members: "I've got a lot of good players who cunningly we're not paying a lot of money to," he commented.
"Others will see that and they'll covet them and then come in - and I won't be able to do a damn thing."
"That's why I was so vocal the other day. If Alex Ferguson is like that (with Wayne Rooney), then what chance have I got? Absolutely zero."
