Kingson set for official arrival at Bloomfield Road

New Blackpool keeper Richard Kingson is finally expected to make his official arrival at Bloomfield Road this week.

The Ghanaian stopper has had his UK work permit application delayed, with the issue due to be resolved this week.

His arrival will be a major boost to the squad, as he will provide competition for Matt Gilks and Mark Halstead for the number one jersey whilst Paul Rachubka is out injured.

Kingson previously had spells at fellow Premier League clubs Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic, but failed to hold down a regular starting place.

However, he produced some fine performances to help Ghana reach the quarter-finals of the recent World Cup - where they eventually lost out to Uruguay on penalties.
