Alex Baptiste flew back to England ahead of his team mates today, to undergo a scan on a hand injury he picked up at the club's training camp in Latvia.

The 24-year-old defender missed the friendly against FK Jelgava yesterday evening, with him sustaining a suspected fracture.

"DJ struck a shot in the last minute of training and it looks like he might of fractured his hand," manager Ian Holloway revealed. "We'll get him back home for a hand specialist to have a look at him."

Gary Taylor-Fletcher also missed last night's friendly against FK Jelgava, and is set to have a scan on a nagging calf problem at the start of next week.

Hopefully the pair will be fit to feature in the Seasiders's next Premiership outing against Newcastle at St. James's Park next week.
