Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has admitted he has a 'busy job' on his hands in deciding whether to take up the contract options on a dozen members of his squad.

Alex Baptiste has just committed his long-term future to the Championship club, with Holloway assessing which players he wants to keep at Bloomfield Road.

He feels letting David Fox leave for Colchester United last summer was a mistake and it is not something he is keen to repeat at the end of this season.

"We've agreed a new contract with Alex Baptiste this week, which I am delighted about because he is a quality player and he fully deserves it," Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette.

"But I have 12 other people who have an option, which will either be taken up or not by the end of this season, so I've a really busy job.

"I've got to be fair to people. I've got to give them chances and have a good look at them in my team.

"An example is David Fox. In my way of playing he might have been a very handy player for us.

"In the old way he might not have got around the place, but in my way he'd have kept the ball and kept us ticking over, so maybe I got that one wrong and let him go at the wrong time because he is a nice footballer.

"It is all about timing and getting the right people."
