Puncheon could return to the seaside

Blackpool are set to launch a bid for former loan star Jason Puncheon when the January transfer window opens.

The Southampton winger snubbed the chance of a move to Bloomfield Road in the summer, opting to join Premier League new-boys QPR on loan until 2 January instead.

But having only spent 15 minutes on the pitch for the Hoops this season, the 25-year-old looks set to return to his parent club when the deal expires.

Pool boss Ian Holloway knows all about Puncheon following his loan spell with the Seasiders at the end of last season, where he impressed with three goals in six starts despite their eventual relegation from the top flight.
