Blackpool manager Ian Holloway was encouraged by his side's performance in last night's Carling Cup first round defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
The Seasiders boss fielded a completely different line-up to the one that started in last Friday's victory over Hull City, and believed his players showed some promising signs despite eventually losing on penalties following a goalless draw.
"I told them how proud I am because they were a like a bunch of strangers with about three different languages. Some of it was heart-warming and I thought we played terrifically well. We're starting to gel into a decent group," he told the official website.
"We got to the final third and were just that last little bit ring rusty and maybe a little bit inexperienced, but I thought our approach play was absolutely excellent."
