Blackburn Rovers close in on Benfica defender Ribeiro

Blackburn Rovers are lining up Benfica left-back Jorge Ribeiro.

The Mirror claims the 29-year-old has arrived at Ewood Park for talks about a possible move.

Ribeiro has been capped nine times by his country and has played for 10 clubs in a career that has taken him to clubs in countries including Russia and Spain.

The defender lost his place in the Benfica side to both David Luiz and Fabio Coentrao.
