Benjani handed new contract at Blackburn Rovers

According to reports Benjani Mwaruwari is to stay with Blackburn Rovers.

The Sun claims Benjani has signed a new one-year deal with the Ewood Park club.

Benjani was out of contract last month and it was unclear whether Rovers boss would keep him on next season given he is looking to revamp his squad in an effort to avoid the relegation battle they faced last season.

After notching only three goals last season, Benjani said: "I have scored goals in the Premier League before but I have to prove it again this season."
