Striker Jason Roberts is hoping Christopher Samba will still be a Blackburn Rovers player next season.

The 27-year-old is being chased by both Arsenal and Tottenham with the Gunners believed to be in pole position.

The centre-back has made no secret of his desire to test himself at a top club.

His Rovers team mate Roberts, told the Lancashire Telegraph: “"There's no doubt Chris Samba has done well for the football club and he signed a new contract recently.

"I'm sure the club will do everything in their power to keep him, but Arsenal's a big challenge and a big club and you would understand if he wants to go and play Champions League football as much as it would be an issue for us."
