According to reports Blackburn Rovers are interested in Sao Paulo defender Joao Miranda.

The Mirror claims Rovers boss Steve Kean is eyeing the Brazilian, viewing him as an ideal replacement for Phil Jones who joined Manchester United this week.

The centre-back is believed to be leaving the Brazilian champions this summer with the plan being to join La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid on a free transfer.

However, it is understood that Kean is looking to hijack the move by offering the 26-year-old more money and a three-year deal.

Miranda is a Brazil international, having earned six caps.
